ANDROSTENEDIONE
Androstenedione is the hormone that is a direct precursor and metabolite
of the hormone testosterone. Androstenedione and testosterone convert
back and forth to each other by action of the enzyme 17-beta
hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. Since Androstenedione is synthesized
into testosterone, it's supplementation likely increases testosterone
production and the androgenic properties associated with testosterone
that are desired by bodybuilders such as increased energy, strength,
muscle development and decreased recovery time from workouts.
German studies have shown up to a 337% increase in free testosterone
levels after a 100 mg dose of androstenedione. Free testosterone levels
may begin rising in as little as 15 minutes after taking androstenedione
on an empty stomach.
Here is the biosynthesis pathway (conversion process) in the production
of testosterone:
Cholesterol => Pregnenolone => DHEA => Androstenedione => Testosterone
Enzymes are involved at each step of the process and may be a limiting
factor in these conversions. Androstenedione is most likely better at
converting to testosterone than DHEA is. For one, DHEA is two steps away
from testosterone. This means that there are more enzymes involved in the
process. Androstenedione is only one step away. Optimal testosterone
levels keep healthy red blood cells, a vital sex drive, rapid protein
production, and a balanced immune system. You may also experience
increased energy, heightened sexual arousal, greater sense of overall
well-being, and enhanced recovery and repair after exercise.
In 100 mg doses, Androstenedione does not appear to have a negative
effect on natural production of luteinizing hormone (LH). This is important
because a reduction in luteinizing hormone would signal that natural
testosterone production may be diminished. It is unknown whether larger
doses of androstenedione will affect luteinizing hormone production.

5-ANDROSTENEDIOL

5-Androstenediol has been shown to have highly effective coritsol blocking
and mild estrogen blocking properties. Research studies indicate that

19-ANDROSTENEDIOL
19-Norandrostenedione is a potent precursor substrate to the anabolic
hormone nortestosterone. Through a natural enzymatic reaction,
19-Norandrostenedione is converted to nortestosterone. Nortestosterone
is anabolic hormone that possesses a higher anabolic to androgenic ratio
than testosterone - its anabolic properties are greater than its androgenic
properties.
This is a very sought after quality for those who are sensitive to elevated
androgens. With 19-Norandrostenedione you can take advantage of the
anabolic (muscle building) properties that result from its natural
conversion in the body to nortestosterone without the negativity associated
with elevated levels of testosterone.
Though not as androgenic as testosterone, it adds a unique dimension to
androgen onset muscle growth. You see, nortestosterone binds differently to
the muscle cell's androgen receptor. The androgen receptor is a protein
molecule on the surface of the muscle cell that allows the binding of an
androgen molecule/hormone, sending the hormone's signal inside the
muscle cell. It is theorized that the receptor affinity for nortestosterone is
very high thus binding the molecule tighter. This may make
nortestosterone more efficient at delivering its "anabolic" signal for a longer
period of time. This means sustained muscle growth.
19-Norandrostenedione exhibits little estrogen conversion. This is especially
helpful for those looking for lean muscle growth and steady strength increases
without excess water or fat accumulation. 19-Norandrostenedione will exhibit a
marked increase in muscle hardness, fullness and vascularity.
19-Norandrostenedione is converted easily through an enzyme controlled
reaction. Though it's been mistakenly reported that the conversion enzyme may
be easily depleted with pro-hormone use, we believe the enzyme used for
19-Norandrostenedione conversion, 17-BHD (17-beta hydroxysteroid
dehydrogenase), is quickly replicated. This means you get full conversion and
full anabolic (muscle-building) activity.
Andro Banned
Senate Bill 2195 also called the Andro Ban was passed by unanimous consent in the United States Senate on October 8th, 2004 and has been signed into law by President Bush.
By passing this bill, the Congress has amended the Controlled Substances Act to include virtually all of these supplements such as 1-Testosterone, Methyl 1 Test, etc. The Controlled Substances Act was passed in 1990 and at that time all steroids were classifed as "Schedule III" substances and were put in the same category as heroin, cocaine and other similar narcotics. Now, with the passage of Senate Bill 2195, they have added andro supplements and prohormones to the Controlled Substances Act.
