Benefits of Eating Raw Foods
Raw foods such as fruits and veggies in their natural form were a
main course of food many years ago. Not so anymore, with so much
packaged and fast foods on the market. Everyone wants their food
fast, so they eat pre-packaged food.
The Problem with Pre-Packaged Food
Pre-packaged food is processed food, and the process does nothing
good. Processing strips out the naturally good elements in the food,
leaving the worthless base. And then, to make matters worse, bad
elements such as preservatives, high fructose corn syrups, dyes,
trans fats and other artificial agents are added into the mix.
Raw Foods are Fantastic
On the other hand, raw foods contain all the natural elements of
vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber, protein and carbohydrates
because they aren't processed out. The contain all the good stuff
that processed food does not.
Here is an interesting fact – usually the brighter the color
(natural color) of the food, the more nutrients it contains. Foods
such as beets, broccoli and avocados are literally crammed full of
vitamins and minerals.
Natural Proportions
There is another factor that many are unaware of and that is the
natural proportion of nutrients. Foods have been created with a
natural proportion of vitamins and minerals that interacts very
well with the human body. However, when big industry processes food,
they ruin these proportions. Then they artificially put in their
own estimates of what is right, which never is.
Absorbability
Compounding matters is the fact that the food industry stuffs some of
their products with synthetic vitamins and minerals, these artificial
constructs are not very absorbable. In fact they often are largely
