Lee Haney is probably the best example of this as he always had a very short bicep but managed to change that into the huge full biceps that he became so well known for. The "peak" or shape of your biceps is genetically predetermined and never changes over the course of your life. The natural shape and design of your muscle can only develop by growing larger. So by developing your entire biceps, you enhance whatever peak you may have. Curls alone will not do the job. Working the brachialis, the smaller muscle under your biceps, helps add size to your upper arm. Developing a peak on your bicep may imply that you have a short bicep which means that you biceps brachi are naturally short but there is something you can do about that. It all has to do with training the brachialis muscle correctly in order to get a full well rounded bicep. One of the many different exercises that you could do is by leaning forward with your arms over a bench and pointing down at a 45-degree angle. Hold a barbell in your hands with your palms facing downwards. Curl the barbell up to your shoulders, then lower under control. This exercise works the brachialis and should be performed for three to five sets of 10 to 15 repetitions. The other famous one is the hammer curl which works directly on the brachialis muscle and will make a big difference to making your biceps appear fuller. The hammer curl is very self-descriptive as you are holding the dumbbell the same way you would hold a hammer. One needs to be patient when starting out with a new exercise. Not only because the muscle first needs to get used to doing the new movement before it will start to get stronger. But also because of the time and dedication it will take in order for the new neuromuscular pathways to go and feed the growing muscle.
