One supplement company claims to have over 70 documented studies showing the effectiveness of GABA. They say that it improves recovery and increases growth hormone production. Do these studies really exist? If this stuff is so powerful why hasn't it caught on?
Yes, there are studies in existance on GABA. I'm not sure about the 70 number but I have seen many of them. One small catch though! Studies do show that GABA increases growth hormone production, BUT in these studies the GABA was actually injected into the brain. You see, GABA does not cross the blood-brain barrier. Thus ingesting it orally will do no good at all. Why hasn't it caught on - it simply hurts too much to inject yourself in the brain!
