Joseph Curtis Hise gained 29 pounds in one months using his own version of the 20 rep squat workout.
He did just two exercises, the flat-footed squat and the press behind the neck.
On squats he did two sets of 8 reps, then he took off some weight and did 20 reps in puff and pant breathing style.
He didn't use a belt on high rep squats because it is constricting and impedes deep breathing.
He combined this workout with a very high protein diet.
