Working Out On An Empty Stomach

Working out on an empty stomach is generally a good idea. If you are trying to get lean, doing your weight training or aerobics first thing in the morning (before eating) is the way to go.

The only thing I normally have before my 6 am training session is a double espresso at around 4:30 am. Sometimes my stomach feels a little upset right when I get to the gym. I've learned over the years to keep a tin of mints such as Altoids in my car. When I feel my stomach start to rumble, I put a mint in my mouth and it quickly calms my stomach.

If you are feeling the same butterflies in your stomach when training first thing in the morning, try eating a mint and see if it helps!
