I would tell your coach that going below parallel will not necessarily bring more muscle/power to your legs. I have worked with some fine strength coaches over the years as well as being a certified personal trainer through the NSCA and 1/4 squats are just as good. I even have talked to doctors about this issue and they agree that 1/4 squats are just fine. And yes, stretch before, during and after workouts!
