In this post I will discuss deadlifts, whether you are training for a meet or just trying to increase your strength this routine should do the trick. There are many routines out there, and while there is no routine that is the end all be all routine, some are better then others, most of the time it depends on the individual, what works well for me may not necessarily work for you, but I think this routine may work for most people.
This is a proggressive routine, the idea is to start with a percentage of your max weight and increase weekly until you reach 90 or 95%, decrease your reps everytime you increase weight. It should look something like this.
Percentage Reps Sets
70% 5 5
75% 5 4
80% 4 5
85% 4 4
90% 3 3
95% 2 2
Well , there is one 6 week training routine, you can add assistance exercises in there as well but you don’t really need much more then that. You can change up or tweak the sets and reps to your liking, but you should see some gains from this routine. This can also be adapted for squats and bench as well.
