Improve Your Grocery Store Experience
You need to eat and part of today’s “gathering of food” includes a visit to the grocery store
Shop on the outside of the grocery store
Whenever I go to the grocery store, I’m amazed at the quantity of “stuff” you can buy. The stores are getting larger and larger and so does their selection.
No matter how many grocery stores I’ve been to all over the USA, the layout is nearly the same. You’ll have the outside of the store displaying fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh meat and fish, eggs and your dairy products like milk, cream, butter, sour cream, yogurt and cheeses.
The aisles in the middle of the store have packaged and canned foods, pastas, sodas, water and anything else you can imagine.
Sadly. today, close to a 100% of what you buy in boxes and packages have been treated with some kind of preservative and were irradiated to increase their shelf life. To top it all off, most of those packaged foods contain wheat, soy and genetically modified organisms (for which there are only a few and likely biased studies.)
The main things worth getting from the aisles are non food items, like bathroom tissue, cleaning supplies and paper towels.
The good news is, you can get everything you need on the outside of the store. You’ll save your health by sticking to the rim of the store and literally vote with your wallet by leaving the boxed stuff on the shelf, sending the message to the store owner that you no longer are willing to buy that “stuff”.
Ideally, your number one choice of produce is still to get it from farmers themselves at your local farmers’ markets.
Is there anything else you think is worth buying from the aisles of your grocery store?
