Still, there are several tips that can greatly help you gain muscle quickly - so if you don't have much time to read around read the following ten tips and get to a gym pronto!
Stay consistent - don't think that you're going to be successful in your training if you only train when you feel like it. To see results you need to be consistent, you need determination and you need to work out when you don't feel like it. You think it's okay to take another day off now... but it's part of a slippery slope that will quite possible lead you to eventually giving up.
Mix it up - stay consistent in your quantity of training but not necessarily in how you train. If you head to the gym every day wit the same programme and go through the same motions then you'll pretty soon plateaux. Not only will you get very bored, but your muscles themselves will eventually stop growing. Look around for ideas for exercises and don't be afraid to try your own.
Set achievable goals - setting achievable goals will keep you motivated and enable you to feel a sense of achievement when you meet them. You're working towards loftier goals but you need a set plan to get there.
Research, research, research - your training will be a waste of time if you don't know what you're doing and you may even hurt yourself. So feel free to get started now, but make sure you read around online and in books to find a scientific method that works for you.
Understand your diet - bodybuilding isn't just about what you do in the gym, but what you do at the table too. Make sure you're eating good amounts of lean protein and cutting your fat and simple carbs.
Anything is better than nothing - if you can't find the time or energy to do a full workout then at least do something. Even six reps of a single exercise if done with short rests can be a great workout.
Remember to rest - however focussed you are on growing rest on your rest days. Otherwise you'll experience overtraining and your muscles won't have a time to grow.
Train until it hurts - when you are in the gym give it everything you've got. If it hurts in the good way then it's helping you build muscle.
There's no such thing as a silver bullet - don't believe the hype on supplements or training regimes. Bodybuilding takes time and effort, period.
Enjoy the process of working out - if you go to the gym just to look good or pull girls you won't stick it out. Go to the gym because you actually enjoy going and you have a bright future ahead of you.
