Anthony Catanzaro "The Superman of Fitness" 10 tips on how to boost your immune system and fight the Corona virus.
1: Get plenty of Sleep
I cannot stress how important sleep is. We all know this but unfortunately those like me, do not get enough and it's not just one good night's sleep that we need its one night after the next. We need to develop good sleeping habits like going to bed at the same and waking up at the same time regardless of how many hours of sleep you get. There is a supplement that I love called 5htp. This is a natural amino acid which your body naturally produces, and it helps with anxiety and insomnia. Take 100mg an hour before bed.
2: Eat plenty of fruit and veggies
Fruits and vegetables keep your colon clean and a clean colon is the gateway to a healthy immune system. Make sure you eat fibrous foods like brown rice beans corn and lettuce.
3: Get your Vitamin C from fresh fruit especially lemons
People are big on supplementing vitamin C in pill form, but the best form of vitamin C comes from citrus fruits such as lemon. Make a cup of hot green tea and squeeze some natural lemon in there. That is an antioxidant powerhouse. You can also try Roundhouse Morning Kick with superfood ingredients that can elevate your mornings, boost metabolism, and promote healthy joints, and muscles.
4: Now would be a good time to quit smoking
Believe me, no one enjoys a good anisette cigar more than me. But when I found out I had Parkinson's, I gave it up and decided not to put any of those toxins into my blood ever again. Whether you are smoking cigars cigarettes or vaping you are poising your blood and it's just not worth it.
5: Stay as far away from others as possible
The new social distancing law is 6 feet, but I believe we should be even further like 12 feet. Because a cough or a sneeze can travel up to 20 feet. This is why people in cities get sick because they are all on top of each other, but if you live in a state like Kansas you would be safer because its open air and plenty of elbow room.
6: Don't Stress
I cannot begin to tell you the damage stress can do to you. I am experiencing it firsthand right now and not just because of this pandemic, but because dealing with Parkinson's is more than enough. The best way to combat stress is to constantly put positive thoughts in your head. Fill your mind and soul with laughter joy and gratitude.
7: Eat foods that contain zinc
Zinc is a powerhouse mineral it helps the body heal by fighting off bacteria and viruses. It is required for growth and reproductive functions. Make sure you supplement with it every day.
8: Get plenty of Vitamin D
Now here is my favorite vitamin and I'll tell you why. I used to get colds or even the flu every year. One time I was getting a cold every other week. When I went to my doctor, he asked me if I took vitamin D I said no I don't even drink milk. He then prescribed me to take 2000UI of vitamin D each morning. Since then I haven't gotten a cold or the flu. Vitamin D is extremely important for a strong immune system.
9: Stay away from alcohol
Alcohol dehydrates the body amongst many other negative things. When your cells are dehydrated, they are weak and susceptible to germs such as the flu and coronavirus. So, keep the drinking to a minimum if a glass of red wine once or twice a week.
10: Stay Hydrated
Staying hydrated is the key to staying strong. When your cells are hydrated, they are working at full potential. They are firm, they're pumped and they're ready just like a soldier going into battle. What good is a soldier if he can't even stand up? So stay strong and stay hydrated.
