Fighting the Effects of Fast Food

The average person eats out at fast food restaurants eats french fries 4 times per week.  I'll be the first to tell you that it's not bad to eat french fries, as long as it is done in moderation.  I"m not saying that french fries are good for you, but you have to live a little.  I'm afraid I have to put my foot down though when I hear of people eating fast food 3-5 days per week.  I don't mind if you spoil yourself a little, but I want to remind you of our goal of eating healthily on a regular basis.

Overeating may lead to things such as higher blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and of course more fat around your stomach and thighs.

If you eat properly 5 or 6 days during the week, eating things like french fries won't have quite the same negative affects on your body.  Besides, when you gradually begin to eat healthier, your cravings for fatty foods will subside.

If you feel that you are just too busy to prepare lunch before you leave for work or don't feel like cooking every day I have a solution for you.  Why not set aside part of one day to prepare a lot of food. Then, you can use plastic containers to freeze the food and then you simply take the food out and microwave it before eating.  This is a good way to prepare food that is healthy.   If you live alone, this is especially good because it is often tough to prepare interesting dishes for only 1 person on a nightly basis.  You could spend 1 Saturday preparing enough food to last most of the month and then you wouldn't need to worry about it again for a while.

Try it out and see if you like it.  I'd love to get some emails to find out how this is going for you.  Most people who try it love the idea because even when they are in a rush, all they need to do is go to the freezer and grab an entrée.
