Crossbow Home Gym Review
The Crossbow Home Gym, also known as the Weider Home Gym, comes in many models, including the Weider Max, the Weider Premium and the Weider Advantage. It is a budget conscious, space saving system for those who want a total body workout at home. The Crossbow Home Gym focuses on offering strength training and cardiovascular exercises, as well as improving the quality of a workout routine.
It is t-shaped in structure, and comes with an adjustable padded bench. The structure, known as the Compound Resistance System, or CRS for short, works by using a special patented system of swivels, cams, pulleys and cables. This gives you up to 240 lbs of weight resistance on the basic Max model, with upgrades up to 340 lbs.
There are more than sixty five exercises a person can go through on the Crossbow, including; reverse grip pull-down, stiff arm pull down, lower back extension for the back; hip extension, leg abduction, and leg adduction for the legs; abdominal crunch, abdominal twist, oblique crunch for the abs; and the chest press, chest fly, and the incline press for the chest.
The amount of exercises available is due in part because of three other added features, a leg developer, a lat tower and a rowing seat. The leg developer allows you to strengthen and tone the legs, with exercises such as leg curls and extensions. The lat tower gives you the ability to focus on your chest, shoulders and back. Finally, to complete the Crossbow Home Gym, there is a rowing seat for an aerobic routine.
Since the system is based on resistance, it improves a workout sequence by allowing a person to quickly change from 5 to 250 lbs in seconds without lowering the heart rate. This also makes the Crossbow Home Gym useful for those who want to do circuit training.
It comes with a lifetime warranty on the resistance bar and a five year limited warranty on the rest of the equipment. The Crossbow Home Gym is lightweight and can be set up and dismantled for more room. Other accessories include a long workout handle, and an ankle strap.
